"I Love You": When is it too soon to say?

Been keeping numb for weeks,

Trying to contain this strong feeling inside of her

In a state of dilemma

She wonders

Should she say those forbidden words

Or should they remain unspoken

When is saying "I love you" just too soon?

Three simple words with a meaning

Deeper than the ocean

Seen as a burden? Or a boon?

Again, she wonders

Took up the courage one night

To profess her inner sentiments

Engulfed with the fear of rejection

She stared into his eyes... expressed her thoughts out loud

"I love you", she said

He glanced shyly at her

Gave the sweetest smile

And kissed her farewell

She waited. He didn't say it.

Ashamed? Embarrassed? Or just plain regret?

No words could describe how she felt

Too many questions lingered in her mind

Her heart grew heavy

Filled with sorrow and disappointment

Has he refused her love?

Or has her confession just caught him by surprise?
Only he has the answer to her longing heart

"I love You"

The words that sing so sweetly in our ears

Overwhelms us with a burst of emotions

The perfect surprise, that leaves us all lost for words

Treasure those 3 words. Never take them for granted. To say the words "I love you" is not a matter of where one said it. It is a matter of whom those words are meant for. Time and place are insignificant in the confession of love. And True love is to give, without the intent of receiving.

For you dear, "I love you".
